First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) began in Claremore, Indian Territory in 1894 with a handful of people. Meeting in the Opera House and baptizing in Dog Creek, our first building was constructed on the corner of Sixth and Florence in 1906.
On December 5, 1945, a new building was dedicated, and an addition containing educational rooms, a kitchen and fellowship hall was completed in 1971.
A new sanctuary was finished in 1987 after fire destroyed the old one. Today we have a membership in excess of 500.
